Overview
We are looking for a Managing Trademark Attorney to join Law on Call. You’ll lead a team of trademark attorneys and support staff while helping companies of all shapes and sizes protect their IP.
Law on Call is one of the highest volume trademark law firms in the US. And we’re just getting started.
With that in mind: Do you enjoy trolling small business and sending them endless cease and desist letters to put in a file for your client in case someday they need to show they guarded their trademark? Just kidding. Kind of. But wouldn’t it be neat to help a client register their trademark, then continue helping them enforce their IP rights and maintain mark strength? That would be fun. Or what about assisting the lawyers on your team as they work to create and enforce robust trademark protections for our clients? That would be pretty cool, too.

Responsibilities
- Manage trademark attorneys and support staff
- Provide legal advice and representation to trademark clients
- Answer client phone calls and provide legal advice
- Respond to legal requests and questions quickly and courteously
- Build relationships with clients
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact clients or practice areas
- Be flexible and take initiative to help support other areas of the business as needed
- Ability to learn and adapt to an autonomy driven, employee-focused company culture
- Act with integrity, demonstrating honesty, transparency, positivity, and trust
- Adaptable and willing to flex with changes, promote positive change management, and help drive company initiatives
- A high threshold for navigating ambiguity while developing, implementing, and maintaining process improvements through growth and change
- Be collaborative & coachable
Minimum Qualifications
- JD from an ABA accredited law school
- 7 years practicing law
- 4 years of experience managing trademark attorneys and support staff
- Licensed to practice law in at least one US Jurisdiction
- Demonstrated expertise in legal compliance and ethics
- Legal experience and expertise in intellectual property matters, especially trademarks
- Growth-minded, comfortable working closely and collaboratively with team members, and able to delegate work
- Detail oriented
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years practicing law
- 7 years of experience managing trademark attorneys and support staff
- Licensed to practice law in Utah
- Licensed to practice law in Arizona
- Experience with the Arizona Alternative Business Structure (ABS)
